Crocheting: Where to Find the Patterns
69
When I had first started crocheting I didn't know where to turn to get ideas and patterns for practicing. I was first looking for plain websites to jump out at me. But as it turns out there was much more to see on YouTube. So that is where I started. YouTube has tons of people who are willing to give out tons of patterns and stitches for free! FREE!
For beginners this isn't a bad place to start because it really is easy to start out watching it, then going back over it with your hook and yarn in hand and pausing whenever you need to. Some of the YouTube users also help you out by letting you know what the abbreviations are for the stitches you're doing.
If you are an alright crocheter like I was I learned alot from watching the YouTube videos and was able to actually start reading (from a PDF file) patterns.
On places like Ravelry, there are plenty of people that give out the patterns for free (like on YouTube) and can be very useful. Ravelry also has an option for you to buy patterns like how it is on Etsy. Although on Etsy I have found lots of patterns for less than $2.00 which is a very good deal.
I have listed some links at the bottom of this Hub to go to for finding the patterns you are looking for. Those are my favorites and are what I go to first. I have also included pictures on the right of the Hub that are just a couple of pictures of patterns I have practiced or done from the links at the bottom of the page.
I hope that this Hub helps you in your crocheting adventures!
